Meditation - A Meaningful Hymn

After my prayer, I decided to look into the Great Hymns of the Faith music book to sing to myself for encouragement. As I flipped through the content pages, I came across this hymn by John Peterson - Just One Step at a Time. I don't think I've sang it before. While I sang to myself, albeit out of tune, the lyric is very meaningful to me, considering my life circumstances. I replaced plural in the lyric with the singular 'I' that the hymn became more personal

The future veiled before me lies, the path is hidden from my eyes.
As Jesus leads, while faith He tries, just one step at a time.
Just one step at a time, Just one step at a time,
That's the way He leads to glory, just one step at a time.

The road He takes I need not know, but follow in the steps that glow, and trust in Him as on I go, just one step at a time.
Just one step at a time, Just one step at a time,
That's the way He leads to glory, just one step at a time.

I need not fear what lies ahead, Nor anxious be nor filled with dread; The saints before were safely led, just one step at a time.
Just one step at a time, Just one step at a time,
That's the way He leads to glory, just one step at a time.

May the hymn be true in my life, I pray.

I really don't know what my future holds. After discussing with my mom of a possibility that I may quit my job to do something radically different, perhaps ministry work, I could sense from her voice of some concern for me, like my inability to make home mortgage payments. We'll see.

Local Church - Prep Work Before Easter

Tonight, together with the Wed night core congregation, we helped one another out by pasting the mailing labels and stamps onto the mailing cards, brochures and newsletters in preparation for the coming Easter. They are to be sent out to the local communities here. There are so many cards, newletters and brochure articles that I lost count but all of us work together in good spirits, revealing the unity spirit within the church. I thank God for their love for Him. The Holy Spirit within me then reminded me of the passage in the New Testament in John 21:15-17, when the Lord asked Peter if he loved Him. Lord Jesus replied to Peter asking him to tend and shepherd His people if Peter really loved the Lord. That same question was asked of me tonight by the Spirit. "Lord, I believe we do love you, as your church, your people" is my answer to Him.
